eventIS, the Eindhoven based specialist for Video on Demand solutions, and sofatronic, the Hamburg based developer of new interactive TV technologies have announced today that they will launch a dedicated VoD solution for the emerging Blu-ray market at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC, September 12-16) in Amsterdam. Based on eventIS' market-proven VoD back office system and sofatronic's Blu-ray authoring tool Kaleidoscope, the solution will provide VoD services to all new Blu-ray players which support network access via BD-live. It will be demonstrated to a select audience at the IBC show.
The sofatronic and eventIS system components are fully pre-integrated, guaranteeing a short time to market and enabling operators to offer feature-rich VoD services including transaction-based, subscription-based or free access to content.
Ever more studios and filmmakers are launching web-enabled Blu-ray titles with BD-Live. This solution gives them the opportunity to provide VoD services and create new distribution channels allowing the same VoD offering to be made available on STBs, mobile devices and Blu-Ray players all at the same time.
